Parrita

Parrita is a sea-level city of about 10,000 inhabitants, approximately 116 kilometers from San Jose. Located on the paved Coastal Highway, it is about 20 kilometers north of the resort town of Quepos, and 40 kilometers south of beach/party town Jaco. The city itself, which has the look and feel of a small town, is just minutes away from the Pacific Coast and some great beaches. But because it is not beach front, and the weather is hot, it has little or no real tourism, besides the many folks who stop there briefly to eat or do errands on their way South or North. The locals are quite friendly, as is the case in most of Costa Rica. It has several banks, hardware stores, grocery stores, and many restaurants. Accommodations tend to range from Spartan to basic.
